Pope's Bracelet Agate

The AGATE takes its name from the river Achates, in Sicily, where it was first discovered in 3000 BC. In ancient times, the gem was widely used as amulet to protect against fever, bad dreams and stress; to enhance strength and vitality; and to ward off storms. The Agate was highly appreciated in Biblical times, and it was used to adorn the High Priest's breastplate (cf. Exodus 28:19). In Hebrew it is known as Shebo, which literally means, “to flame up," because if its capacity to increase human energy.
