Mini Table Calendar
The 2027 POPE'S CALENDAR portrays the Fourth Set of the Virgen Coronada de Filipinas - "The Canonically Crowned Marian Images in the Philippines".
A Canonical Coronation is a formal act through which a Pope bestows a Crown on a Marian Image that is widely venerated in a particular locality. The requirements for a Canonical Coronation are the Image's antiquity, its enduring devotion, and the documented miracles associated with it. If the Crown is conferred by a Bishop’s Decree, it is called Episcopal Coronation.
The first Marian Image to receive such an honor was the Madonna della Febbre, now enshrined in the Sacristy of St. Peter’s Basilica in Rome, which was crowned by Pope Urban VIII on 27 May 1631.
Thereafter, the devotional practice was extended throughout the world, for the most prestigious Marian Images. In the Philippines, there are 58 Canonically Coronated Marian Images, and the number continues to grow - proof of the unquenchable Marian devotion of the Pueblo Amante de Maria - "The People in love with Mary."
